At Event Horizon Advocacy Network, we bridge social studies and natural sciences to illuminate the unseen intersections of class, ethnicity and gender.

Out Mission

Our mission is to map and dismantle systemic barriers to women’s full participation in STEM and public life through rigorous data, collaborative research and global action.

We envision a world where every woman, regardless of class, ethnicity or geography, has equal access to light, voice and opportunity.

Our Team

Event Horizon Advocacy Network (EHAN) began in 2024 as part of the Guangqi–Ricci Scholars Program when three young women from China, the US, and Pakistan saw that night-light data mirrored patterns of gendered invisibility. Inspired by astronomy methods, we now unite data science, astronomy and advocacy spread across the United States, China, the United Kingdom, Pakistan, Canada, and Indonesia.

Jessie (Nanjing, China) – Data & astronomy outreach
Elizabeth Perry (New York, US) – Gender studies integration & global workshops
Amina (Islamabad, Pakistan) – Intersectionality mapping & community liaison
